BLOG ON TOUR! Destination unknown…

Have you tried blogging yet? It’s a great way to share what you do, the way you do it, and most importantly the why you do what you do with a wider audience. Blogging is one of the easiest ways to connect with your audience.

Welcome to My Writing Process Blog Tour

lighthouseThis week I am carrying the torch for the Karmen Lizzul Blog Tour and spreading the word for other bloggers and their businesses. This is just one way that your message can be taking to a wider audience, through leveraging the networks of others.

I’ve been invited by upcoming blogger and biz mum dynamo Denna Szwajkowski. Denna is one of the best connectors I know. She is the co-conspirator for the global meetup collective Founding Mums, radio host for Denna on the Go, inspiring mumpreneurs everywhere; mum to 3 little ‘pumpkins’ and has multiple businesses. Her motto is – Make a Difference – Collaborate – Grow.

Through her invitation I hope to impart an insight into what I do, why I blog and how my own writing process works, in the hope it may inspire you to in some small way to take massive action and get your blog on too!

Denna has invited me to answer these 4 questions:

What am I working on?

My business is always in a constant state of refinement. That means re-defining what customers want, and finding better ways to meet their needs. At the moment I am tweaking the way I deliver my website and training packages, so that clients can do what they love most, instead of spending unnecessary time, energy and money on websites and marketing. Part of this involves joint venturing with a business buddy of mine who is a graphic designer, so that together we can provide something that is far great than we could do alone, to created powerful and visible brands that resonate with the customers that are clients want to work with most. It’s a fantastic project called the Brand Identity Masterclass with packages to take people’s brands to the next level.

How does my work differ from others of it’s genre

Quite often you’ll be told what to build, but not always how to build it, especially in marketing. Fundamentally I’m a marketing trainer, so what I do involves breaking what can sometimes seem complex, into doable bite sized chunks. I LOVE demystifying the marketing process and showing people HOW to do things. So when it comes to do-it-yourself marketing, I’m the one that will show you how to create and drive your WordPress website, how to build your Mailchimp newsletter, and how to structure your blogs and articles with ease. It’s much easier to master these things when you have someone beside you all the way. SIMPLICITY is my main theme, and I can take any heart-centred business owner who thinks they are a technophobe and provide them with new ways to share their important message. It’s never as difficult as they expect, and they are often surprised at how quickly they move beyond their current comfort zones.

Why do I write what I do?

Everything I write has been created to shine a light on some kind of marketing fundamental in a way that can be easily absorbed and applied.

I generally stick to 3 key topics which are article writing (and blogging), marketing made easy and WordPress. This helps me to stay focused. It’s also what my readers seek me out for when it comes to services, so they work together.

The underlying theme is always about how you connect with your ideal client using these easily accessible ways. I tend to keep my articles around the 500 word mark so they are easily digestible, but still juicy enough to offer some great tips. Writing helps me to stay connected and keep on track with where my market is at.

Blog ideas made easyHow does my writing process work?

Good question! I tend to respond to what is being talked about by my clients and social groups, and write about that. Or, I’ll have a conversation about something that sparks an interesting train of thought. For example, I had a funny conversation with my daughter last week (she’s 8), so it prompted me to write about how our children begin forming their purchasing decisions early, and how this applies to our own customers. You can read that article here.

What is going on around me fuels my creative spark, and I tend to deliver each week for #TeachingTuesday which keeps me on track.

Going with the flow works for me.

Inspiration is all around us. It’s easy to take for granted the great work you are doing everyday, but if you pause for a moment and find the gold in it, then share it with others, it’s great blog material!

I’m passing the torch onto 3 new bloggers. These are:

Di Riddell – Confidence Coach to Women Over 50. I’m 50 yet, but it’s not far off, and Di delves into some fascinating topics on her blog from whether to get a tattoo or not, to navigating online dating for the first time! She is a wonderful story teller and an amazing example of how life begins at 50.

Sarah Schekoske Keetley aka Mischievious Mum. Sarah, is a devoted mum and openly shares her trials and tribulations with a smile on her face! She is dedicated to supporting and inspiring other bloggers through her Facebook Group, Sunshine Coast Bloggers Unite.

Vanessa Bushell, Psychologist and author of Don’t Tell Me to Get Over It. Vanessa has an incredible gift for writing, and an uncanny way of describing in detail how we experience emotion it all of it’s shades. She is a psychologist with a difference in the way she blends traditional therapy with mindfulness and has an indepth understanding spirituality, and articluates this beautifully.

THE TORCH IS PASSED! Happy blogging…..
